The thing that seems to keep

The thing that seems to keep getting lost here, is that it was not anyone being uncivilized that made them go to the front of the stage, it was Neil inviting everyone by saying "Come up, there's plenty of room up front!" I would not have ventured up there otherwise, and I'm quite sure nobody else would have either. It's as simple as that, period! I can't imagine Neil would have expected this kind of controversy to erupt due to it! I've been seeing them live since I was 16..a span of 24 years, and they have always encouraged people to get up, get close, dance, and have a good time. Bands hate to play to an audience that looks like they're just watching t.v.! I would have been happy to stay where I was, but when Neil smilingly invites you to get closer...well, I'm going to! Seattle concert audiences are notoriously obedient, to the point of being docile! As a performer myself, I know they feed off audience energy, hence Neil's invitation for them to come closer. I just feel you are portraying this situation as one where a bunch of rabid "uncivilized" brutes threw chairs and stepped on babies just to get closer. Neil wanted the fans to get closer, and invited them to do so. End of story! Anyway, I do not wish to bicker with a fellow CH fan. This site should be for people to come and discuss the music, see photos, get updates, etc. Problems with the venue, i.e. better viewing areas for wheelchairs, maybe having the chairs elevated, etc should be taken up with the venue. To blame those issues on fans who went up to the stage at Neil's very INNOCENT suggestion is not right. I wish you very pleasant future concert going!

I MUST SAY CROWDED HOUSE PUT ON A GREAT SHOW . HOWEVER THE CONCERT GOERS WERE INCREDIBILY THOUGHTLESS AND UNCIVILIZED. AFTER THE FIRST TUNE THEY STARTED TO RUSH THE STAGE. THIS WOULDNT REALLY BE A CONCERN IF THE STAGE WAS HIGHER AND THE SEATING AT AN ANGLE. THIS DIDNT SEEM TO REGISTER WITH THE SELFISH CONCERT GOERS. OF COURSE IT'S A CONCERT AND THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU DO AT CONCERTS IF THE SEATING ALLOWS. I BELIEVE IF THE GUYS AND GALS THAT RUSHED THE STAGE WERE MORE AWARE OF THEIR SURROUNDINGS AND RESPECTFUL OF OTHERS THAT ACTUALLY WANTED TO VIEW THE MEMBERS OF CROWDED HOUSE. THE SHOW WOULD HAVE BEEN ENJOYED BY ALL. I HAD FRONT ROW SEATS AND I'M TALL SO MY VIEWING WAS NOT IMPACTED, HOWEVER I DID FEEL FOR THE GOERS BEHIND ME THAT COULDNT SEE AND YES LETS NOT FORGET THE DISABLED CONCERT GOERS THAT ATTENDED THE CONCERT IN WHEEL CHAIRS! SO IF THE RAISING OF MY VOICE AND PLEADING WITH OTHERS TO SIT DOWN WAS OFFENSIVE AND RUDE TO SOME. THINK OF OTHERS AND YOUR SURROUNDINGS. THIS SELFISH BEHAVIOUR IS INDICATIVE OF THE AMERICAN ATTITUDE OF "ME FIRST". ALL OF YOU THAT RUSHED THE STAGE SHOULD TRULY TAKE A MINUTE TO REFLECT ON YOUR SELFISH AND UNCIVILIZED BEHAVIOUR. WHO KNOWS? YOU MAY HAVE A CHANGE OF HEART AND SEE YOUR SURROUNDINGS MORE CLEARLY.

Seattle show was brilliant

What a great show!! The set list was mixed up beautifully between older and newer songs, and many of them had a more edgier or more atmospheric sound than the recorded versions. Neil played the electric guitar solos with a particularly youthful, energetic vigor. And, of course, the spontaneous humor, casual banter, and slightly flying-by-the-seat-of-the-pants feel were all there. I flew all the way from Houston to see this concert, and it didn't disappoint. And what a great venue -- a little chilly, but that just made the wine all that more delicious. Great sound quality too.

Flying to Seattle just to see this show was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Neil Finn is incapable of anything less than a brilliant performance and I've yet to encounter an audience he doesn't charm the pants off of. He is like the Brett Favre of live music--fan or not, you can't help but get swept up in the giddy joy he has in sharing his incredible gift. Chateau Ste. Michelle's jaw-dropping vistas of lush forested hills, hot air balloons floating upon the vibrant sunset and bright flowers popping among terraced gardens and duck ponds (not to mention the wine) were an idyllic backdrop. Yet the glorious setting was completely upstaged the moment Crowded House strummed the first chord of "I Feel Possessed." The band was tight all the way through, and the flawless vocal harmonies brought my hand to my chest several times; my heart felt as though it was melting. I've seen Crowded House and various (!) Finn brother iterations dozens of times in as many years. And yet every performance still packs that soul-piercing rush of the first time. Dare I say they keep getting even BETTER. The Split Enz classics and songs pulled from deep within the CH archives were treats for this longtime devotee. I can't wait for the Denver show, when Crowded House will no doubt surprise me with another memorable extravaganza!

3rd time I saw you guys, first time was in support of Woodface with Tim. This was far and away the best, and one of my favorite concerts. Awesome song selection - thanks for playing Its Only Natural and Hole In The River, never heard those live before. Also first for me to hear the Split Enz covers (I Got You, History Repeats especially), which had me doing the Pogo, and I never do the Pogo! Mystery to me that you guys werent as big as the Beatles in the U.S. You are my Beatles. Hope you guys go for another 25 years!

Good venue and a Great show

A complete and solid show. Great mix of the new and old. Did not know really what to expect and have to say that the musicianship was outstanding. It is rare that you get a show where the individual performances and the overall performance on are equal and that is what we got as an audience. Thanks for continuing with your musical and artistic journey. It is a hell of a fun ride for the rest of us.

Thanks for a brilliant show. We both loved it. Loved the new songs and old favourites and was blown away getting to hear "Message To My Girl" and "I Walk Away", "History Repeats" and "I Got You" in the encore. Wish I had had the ability to see multiple shows. Matt's a fantastic drummer and this version of the band feels completely organic and in the groove. Hope you enjoyed the show as much as these two long-time fans. Cheers. Jamie
